Webb24 feb. 2013 · Pressing the right mouse button while holding an object freezes it in place, so it's not affected by gravity or any other FUS, but I don't know if that would be possible in Skyrim's engine. After a period of time, it will be back where it was. What happens is, the clutter being put back can knock off other things that you put on the shelf or table. I don't know happens if you just remove the clutter, say putting it in a container.
