Simple hashing problem
Webb1 mars 2024 · In hashing there is a hash function that maps keys to some values. But these hashing function may lead to collision that is two or more keys are mapped to same value. Chain hashing avoids collision. The idea is to make each cell of hash table point to a linked list of records that have same hash function value. Webb22 dec. 2011 · I am getting sparse hash collisions with these small strings, I have tried something simple like adding a salt (did not work). The problem is that too many of my small strings like "AABABA" collides its hash with the reverse of "ABAAAB" (Note that these are not real examples, I have no idea if AAB and ABA actually cause collisions!)

Webb4 maj 2024 · In simple terms, hashing means taking an input string of any length and giving out an output of a fixed length. In the context of cryptocurrencies like bitcoin, the transactions are taken as input and run through a hashing algorithm ( bitcoin uses SHA-256) which gives an output of a fixed length. Let’s see how the hashing process works. Webb31 juli 2012 · Most people who bothered writing partial solutions were able to break the packing and anti debugging parts of it, but stopped at the very end when they faced a simple hashing algorithm they had to reverse to generate a valid key for the crackme.
