WebUpgraded, Duramax can be one tough motor. Powerstrokes are good, except for the 6.0, which has been more problematic than I'd want to deal with. The 7.3 is tried and true. Cummins makes excellent motors. They tend to have better fuel mileage than either Duramax or Powerstroke. They also tend to be more powerful.

They used to own a small percentage of Cummins back in the 90's, but Cummins did a stock by-back and bought out Ford's shares. Therefore, Cummins is in fact its own company, with no parent company. Just thought I'd clear up that misconception.
